A deoxyribonucleotide is defined as a monomer of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) or in other words repeating unit of deoxyribonucleotide synthesis DNA.
Each deoxyribonucleotide consist of three parts that involves a deoxyribose sugar, a nitrogenous base, and a phosphate group. The nitrogenous base is allowed to bound to the 1' carbon of deoxyribose sugar. The phosphate group is then bind to 5' carbon of the deoxyribose sugar.
The process involved in the synthesis of deoxyribonucleotide is reduction of ribonucleoside diphosphates.
