Was phenylthiourea a competitive inhibitor or a noncompetitive inhibitor?

    Phenoloxidase is a key enzyme of melanization catalyzing the oxidation of phenols. Phenylthiourea (PTU) is the well-known and widely used inhibitor of phenoloxidase. However, the mechanism of its action is not quite clear.
