Hey stream are fast moving air that move round every part of the Earth. The earth rotation is responsible for her stream. As jet streams move closer to the the equator, it is affected by the momentum of air. It is not directly north or south but it is affected when closer to the equator. This has to to do with momentum. and how fast the location on the Earth move relative to Earth axis. The speed tend to increase as it move closer to the equator.

    Explanation:

Jet streams are strong fast moving winds I'm the upper parts of the atmosphere. Jet streams travel in the tropopaus the area between the troposphere and the stratosphere.
