Why was the origin of genetic material important to the origin of life on earth?

There is no origin of life without the origin of genetic material. Even the simplest organisms that have been found, and every organism that exists, requires a full complement of genetic material in order to function.

For the simplest organisms known, this amounts to 600-900 genetic products, consisting of various multiples of 5 primary types of nucleotides that add up to over 1 million sets of: a sugar (deoxyribose), and the bases cytosine (C), thymine (T), adenine (A), guanine (G), and a phosphate.

There is additionally a large number of proteins required to construct, organize, encapsulate and functionally operate the organism's required functions.

The result is without all this genetic material there is no reproductive, metabolic, function cell-based organism possible.

The real irony is that there are no natural processes or forces in existence to create these relatively simple genetic molecules, organize them, code them on multiple levels and generate all of the organism's functions.
