The Quantities important in plasma are: - Neutral solutes: urea, glucose - Cations: Na +, K +, Ca + +, Mg + + - Anions: HCO3 and Cl-

Dialysate's composition is: - Solutes above (except for the solutes that we want to epurate like urea and creatinin).

An equilibrium will be made between the two medium, which let the "wastes" (ions and solutes) to move from the blood to the dialysate.

If the dialysate does not contain glucose, the person will undergo hypoglycemia due to the moving of the glucose from the blood to the dialysate.
