    A. evaporation of ocean water

The process of evaporation is responsible for adding moisture to the atmosphere that could eventually fuel a hurricane.

    Explanation:

A hurricanes simply begins with the evaporation of warm ocean water, which add water into the troposphere, the lower atmosphere sometimes called the weather sphere. This humid air is then dragged aloft when converging winds that collides and turn upwards. Water vapor starts to condense into clouds and rain at higher altitudes, releasing heat that warms the surrounding air, causing it to rise as well. When warm air rises, a low pressure starts to occur. When favorable conditions continue to exist, a low pressure may develop into a hurricane.

A hurricane is capable of destroying coastal areas with maximum sustained winds of 155 miles per hour or higher, intense areas of rainfall, and a storm surge.
