The four main characteristics of hazardous waste are as follows-

a) All hazardous wastes are able to produce fire under certain condition

b) All hazardous waste have the ability to cause corrosion in surrounding metal elements

c) All hazardous waste are toxic which means they cannot be ingested under any circumstances as they are poisonous.

d) And lastly all hazardous wastes are reactive in nature and thus are unstable under normal condition.
