The Ozone Layer, located within the Stratosphere is beneficial for life on Earth solely for the fact that it contains the largest concentration of Ozone, relative to the rest of the planet. The Ozone layer also provides the vital protection against most of the Sun's ultraviolet radiation which allows life to exist with little consequence to receiving sunlight.
