    Enzymes catalyze biochemical reactions involving the substrate. Substrate bonds with the enzyme active site, forming the enzyme-substrate complex. The substrate is converted into one or more products, which are then released from the active site of the enzyme. The active site then reverts back to its original form and it is free to accept another substrate molecule.
