    C. In rivers, lake, and streams

    Explanation:

After we use the water in our daily life for countless activities (cooking, cleaning, bathing, etc.), it becomes wastewater and needs to be treated before it can be reused. Wastewater treatment follows the following steps:

Preliminary Treatment - In a first phase, wastewater, produced by the population through domestic use or industry, arrives at the Wastewater Treatment Station where the larger waste is filtered and separated. Primary Treatment - Next, the wastewater goes through the Primary Decantation, where the suspended solid particles are eliminated by gravity. Secondary Treatment - Wastewater undergoes a Biological Treatment with bacteria that digest existing organic matter. Then, they go through the Secondary Decantation, which allows the deposit of sludge resulting from the action of bacteria. Tertiary Treatment - At this stage of treatment, wastewater is subjected to disinfection and nutrient removal. Bacteria, suspended solids, excess nutrients and specific toxic compounds are removed to purify them. After undergoing this treatment, water can be used for agriculture, golf course watering, green space watering, pavement and street washing, among other possible uses. Final Discharge of Water - Finally, water is returned to nature under environmentally safe conditions. At this stage water is discharged into rivers, lakes and streams.

    Answer: Option C

    Explanation:

The waste water treatment plant is used to treat the infected water which carries harmful bacteria, waste material, pollutants and other undesirable substances from different sources.

The waste water treatment plant removes the bacteria and infectious substances from the water and then the treated water is drained into river, lake and streams.
