Pros:
Some of the world's most deadly diseases, which have resisted elimination, can be destroyed with the use of genetic engineering. From genetic engineering, foods can be designed that are more resistant to extreme temperatures and filled with all the right nutrients that animals and humans need to survive.
Cons:
There is no rigorous approval process for genetically modified products. And without effective regulation, there is no guarantee that some of them can be harmful. The threat of an unwanted trait being transferred will always be present. Genetically modified crops could cause environmental problems. These could become invasive or toxic to wildlife and cause great havoc.
Explanation:
Genetic manipulation has many advantages, but also disadvantages. This new technology consists of the artificial manipulation, modification and recombination of DNA or other nucleic acid molecules in order to modify an organism or population of organisms.
