Kinetic energy is energy in motion. During a rescue mission, many things could be moving. There could be a machine using kinetic energy to move rocks or rescuers using kinetic energy to lift someone out of a hole

A mass in motion possesses kinetic energy, this energy is due to motion. In Newtonian mechanics, if the body of mass m is moving with velocity v then the kinetic energy is, E = 1/2m (v*v). Kinetic energy is a scalar quantity and is independent of the direction of motion. It is directly related to the velocity. Greater the velocity, the more the kinetic energy similarly if we increase the mass the kinetic energy will also increase. The machine used in rescue missions like Cranes and vehicle uses utilize kinetic energy.
