Countries depend on nuclear energy when the conventional mode of energy extraction are either not available or not sufficient

    Explanation:

Yes this is true and in this regard the best example would be Japan. Japan has meager energy supplies or alternative sources of energy. There are several restrictions in regards to production of energy from alternative sources such as

    a) The solar energy extraction requires adequate sunlight availability and land. Japan has restricted land and also the sunlight exposure. Thus, solar energy cannot be a good source of energy for Japan. The same implies for the wind energy farms.

    b) Japan has no coal reserves and hence it cannot be prominent source of energy

    c) Hydroelectricity is also not possible because of unavailability of sufficient land parcels to develop such mega structures.

While on the other hand nuclear power plants acquire less space and produce more energy as compared to any of the conventional energy resources.
