In given case, mother blood group id AB-Rh negative, while blood type of newborn is B-Rh positive. This condition can leads to development of RH disease, also known as erythroblastosis fetalis in second or subsequent pregnancies.

It occurs when mother has Rh-negative blood group and father has Rh-positive blood group, which leads to a Rh-positive pregnancy. At the time of first delivery, mother gets exposed to Rh-positive blood of baby that causes production of antibodies and memory cells against Rh-positive blood in mother. During second pregnancy, these memory cells produce antibodies which may affect health of developing embryo in womb.

So, nurse should prescribe to administration of D-antibodies or Rho-antibodies to the mother, immediately after the delivery. These antibodies act against antibodies against Rh-positive blood and neutralize them. Thus, no more anti-Rh positive antibodies will present in mother cell that can harm during second pregnancy.
