The events that occur during mitosis are

    • Prophase.

    • Prometaphase ...

    • Metaphase ...

    • Anaphase ...

    • Telophase ...

    • Cytokinesis.

    Explanation:

During prophase, the complex of DNA and proteins contained in the nucleus, known as chromatin, condenses.

During prometaphase, the physical barrier that encloses the nucleus, called the nuclear envelope, breaks down.

During metaphase, the cell's chromosomes align themselves in the middle of the cell through a type of cellular "tug of war."

During anaphase, a complete set of chromosomes has assembled at each pole of the cell.

During telophase the chromatids or chromosomes move to opposite ends of the cell and two nuclei are formed.

Cytokinesis occurs in anaphase in animal cells and prophase in plant cells, and finishes in telophase in both, to form the two daughter cells produced by mitosis.

During prophase the spindle microtubules grow and extend from each pole to the equator. Also chromosomes super coil and become short and bulky and the nuclear envelope breaks down.
