Gypsum has a hardness of 2 and quartz has a hardness of 7. Explain why gypsum can not scratch quartz.

    Gypsum can't scratch quartz due to the material covering of the quartz rating a density/hardness of 7, which is higher the Gypsum's level of 2. (Fun Fact; Diamond is the highest on the scale at 10)
