Television is able to recreate the entire visible spectrum by mixing three primary colors. this process is similar to the view of human color vision called trichromatic theory.

The trichromatic theory is the theory of human color vision which explains that there are three categories of color receptors (cone cells) which has different absorption spectra that promotes color vision. The theory verifies that it is possible to join all of the colors in the visible spectrum by proper combination of three primary colors and that the type of primary colors used is not highly important as long as combining the two of the colors does not recreate the third.
