How is SI unit related to binomial nomenclature?

Si units are a fixed set of standard units of measurements that are bound to remain the same throughout the world. Examples are kilogram, meter, second, ampere, kelvin, and candela. These units are primarily used in reporting measurements that appeals to all the scientific communities from different parts of the world that have their own system of units like foot, furlong, pounds, hectare, barrels, etc. This removes inconsistencies and standardizes the measurements.

Binomial nomenclature of organisms is much like the SI units. These are the scientific names given to species that are known by different names in different countries. Example, Allium cepa, also known as onion in English, oignon in french, cebolla in Spanish, etc. Because of binomial nomenclature the french, the English and the Spanish will be able to understand each other. Thus like SI units, binomial nomenclature is a standardization of the names or the naming method.
