Two drugs, called colchicine and cytochalasin, are known to disrupt the cytoskeleton within a eukaryotic cell, such as an amoeba. Which cell function would be most affected by addition of these drugs to an amoeba?

    -The ability of the amoeba to crawl, change shape, and move its organelles around.

    Explanation;

    -The cytoskeleton is made of three major kinds of protein filaments: Intermediate filaments which are composed of a variety of fibrous proteins, Microtubules that are made up of a protein called tubulin and Actin filaments that are made of a protein called actin.

    -The crucial importance of microtubules in cell division has led to the development of drugs that disrupt microtubule function to kill rapidly dividing cancer cells. Some examples of drugs that bind to tubulin subunits and prevent microtubule assembly are colchicine, vincristine and vinblastine.
