Importance of cell membrene

The Cell Membrane is, the semipermeable membrane surrounding the cytoplasm of a cell. It is important since, the cell membrane keeps toxic substances out of the cell, contain receptors and channels that allow specific molecules, such as ions, nutrients, wastes, and metabolic products, that mediate cellular and extracellular activities to pass between organelles and between the cell and the outside environment. It also separates vital but incompatible metabolic processes conducted within organelles. Also if the cell didn't have a cell membrane, the nucleus would or wouldn't be needed because most likely it would float away, but if that didn't happen it would possibly not be able to work the cell with every other organelle floting away, or it could be infected because without a cell memberane stuff could get in freely and infect the nucleus. Without the cell membrane the cell will probably most likely cease to exist.
