Mumps belong to the category of viral disease and the causative agent is the mumps virus. This diseases usually spread by the droplets of the infected individuals or by sharing the same utensils. Any contact with the respiratory secretion of the affected individuals may cause mump.
Explanation:
The agent that is known to carry as well as transmit the infectious pathogen is called the vector. In case of the diseased condition of mump, respiratory secretions like sneeze or cough droplets acts as the vector. The causative bacteria contain single stranded genetic material and 15,384 bases coding for nine proteins. The humans are the exclusive host for this virus.
