Sickle cell anemia is a genetic disease caused by and autosomal recessive gene if each parent carries one sickle cell allele what are the chances that their child will have sickle cell anemia?

    The answer is 25%. Sickle Cell Anemia (SCA) is a recessive trait. This means that a person would need to have gotten it from both of their parents.

    I did my best at doing a punnet square to show this. The one with ss would have SCA, Ss and SS would not have it.
