    Worms like earthworms decompose dead organic matter. They get their nutrition from the bacteria and fungi that grow on these decomposing organic matter. Worms also feed on the dead remains of plant and soil. Worms other than earthworm also feed on animal remains and partially decayed organic matter. Some worms even feed on microorganism such as algae other than fungi and bacteria.
