Wild type fruit flies have reddish eyes. In some breeding experiments white eyed male flies randomly appear due to mutations. Further matings involving the wild type females and the white eyes males produced red eyes flies of both sexes but only white eyed flies that were males. This would indicate that the white eye trait is
