What kind of joint is a cranial suture, both structurally and functionally?

    Cranial sutures are fibrous joints. Their function is to join the bones of the skull. Sutures are important for cranial growth. Once, the sutures completely fuse braincase does not grow further. Each suture fuse at a particular age.
