How do bones prevent damage to the internal organs

    Because those vital organs are extremely fragile the bones act as a type of barrier between the organs and whatever the body may come in contact with. Bones like the ribs protect your heart. Other organ like the eyes, brain, lungs, and spinal cord are all protected by bones or your skeleton.
