Difference between horizonatl and vertical gene transfer

    Vertical gene transfer is what happens when you have a child, and some of your genes are transfered to it.

    Horizontal gene transfer is something bacterias do. Bacterias can absorb DNA from their environment, and incorporate it into their own genome. Humans/eukaryotes do not do this.
