How do binomial, or two part common names compare with early versions of scientific names

    The answer is B. they tend to be shorter.

    Binomial names consists of two parts - the name of a genera and the name of species. However, before this system was established, the names of species were very long. They consisted of the name of genera and the name of species but several words long. Now binomial names have only two words.
