Contrast the role of research in science and pseudoscience

Science involves employing the scientific method, developing hypotheses and testing them and then developing new hypotheses based on the results. Any hard science of social science attempts to follow these guidelines.

Psuedoscience occurs when people come to conclusions based on their own political and religious agendas. Creationism is a good example of this. Right or wrong, it does not utilize the scientific method but instead attempts to explain results based on already-held assertions.
