Why don't most parasites kill their host?

The parasites don't kill their hosts because parasites need the nutrients from their hosts body. If there host died they would die too because they wouldn't be able to get the nutrients that they need.

They require their host to be alive in order to get their nutrients, that is, if their host dies they die with it.
