What is the term for the two sets of chromatids formed in the parent cell?

    The two sets of chromatis are called the homologous chromomsomes. These two homologous chromomsomes have the paternal and maternal origin. During the fertlisation of gametes, the homologous chromomsomes come into zygote.

    These homologous chromosomes paired during the meiotic division in the sex cells.
