In what pattern does the flow of energy in an ecosystem take place

Don't really remember, but I guess

radiation from sun

then to autotrophs that make food

then to consumers

then back to soil for fossils and back radiation from earth.

I don't know that is all I remember. And correct me if i am wrong.
