    Shale rock is most likely to be changed to slate during regional metamorphism. it is a mix of mud, clay minerals, quartz and calcite. It is the most common sedimentary rock. this rock is formed by the deposition of slow moving water mainly in lake, river etc. Black skales are rich in unoxidised carbon.
