The genotype frequency in the population may be evolving because of the actual number of individuals where each genotype differs with the expected number of individuals.

Genotype frequency is the number of individuals with a certain genotype which is divided to the total number of individuals in a population.

To calculate allele frequency for diploid species we understand that homozygous have two copies of allele while heterozygotes have one allele. Hardy-Weinberg law explains the relationship which is between the allele and genotype frequency where the population is not evolving.
