I think that the following were findings were contrary to initial expectations in the human genome project, That is, Ninety three percent of multi-exon human genes have alternatively spliced forms and that the human genome contains fewer than 21,000 genes. The main goal of the genome project was to map all the human genes and determine the nucleotide sequence of the entire human genome.
