Approximately what percentage of a human's DNA is used for coding information for the synthesis of proteins?

Scientists have recently determined that less than 10 percent of human DNA that encodes for entire genomes are involved in protein synthesis. The figure is around 8.2%, while the rest of the genome is considered junk DNA. This does not mean that the junk DNA is just white noise, as they do serve other purposes, yet in terms of importance and protein expression, less than 10% of the human genome is responsible.
