Filament. Elevates the anther up into the air, increasing the chances of pollen travelling to the stigma of the female reproductive structure. Pollen ... The stigma is the top part of the female reproductive structure of the flower, where pollen lands. The stigma is also coated in a sticky sugary coating to catch pollen.
