Describe the general process of wind generation and how it relates to the sun's energy.

Wind is moving air. The gases from the atmosphere move because of heat energy from the sun. Heat from the sun heats an air mass close to the earth's surface. When the air mass rises colder air rushes in to take its place as the rising air mass displaces colder air. This movement of air is wind and the heating from the sun triggers this convective process.
