The Mississippi River flows into the Atlantic Ocean at the Gulf of Mexico. What can you conclude about the salinity of ocean water near the mouth of the river?

    As we know from geography, rivers and gulf are freshwater bodies, while oceans and seas are saltwater bodies. So, when the water from the freshwater river flows into the salty ocean, its salinity increases especially right at the mout of the river.
