    A: They lower the activation energy required. Enzymes, which are biological catalysts, allow reactions to proceed at a sufficiently high rate at temperatures conducive to life.

    Catalysts are just a broader term in regards to chemical reactions. They are a substance that increases the rate of chemical reaction, without itself undergoing anybpermanent chemical changes (ie they are not part of the final product).

    They achieve this by lowering the energy required to start a reaction.
