Why is water scarcity a growing issue in Mexico

Water scarcity is a growing issue as the demand for water is far exceeding its supply this is largely in part due to mismanagement of preexisting resources. Most of Mexico is dependent on aquifers but the rate at which water is being pumped out far exceeds the rate at which it is being replenished.
