    The answer is wavelength.

Wavelength is the distance between two successful crests or troughs in a transverse wave (a wave in which vibration of particles is perpendicular to the direction of the wave motion). In a longitudinal wave (a wave in which the vibration of particles is parallel to the direction of wave motion) the wavelength is the direction between two successful rarefactions or compressions.
