Red-green color blindness is caused by an x-linked recessive gen. In a family, the mother is a carrier of this gene while the father does not have the gene. What are the possible effects on their children?

    I agree that half the boys would be colorblind but half the girls would only be carriers. Since girls sex genes are XX, and the father only has one X to "give" and that X doesn't code for the gene, only half could possibly be a carrier (getting a carrier X from the mother and a regular X from the father) while the other half would be normal.

    Half of the boys are color-blind and half of the girls are color-blind.
