If the star is a bright blue-white in color, then it is hot whereas if it is red in color or closer to red, then it is cooler or not hot. According to the equation relating temperature of star with peak wavelength of light, it can be concluded that the hotter the star, the lower the peak wavelength, the closer it is to violet color. Hence, the more blue it is.
