Because co2 is a dangerous gas for environment and due to increase in co2 there is an increase in the temperature of the earth which is playing a role in global warming

1) because CO2 puts us at the highest risk of irreversible changes if it continues to accumulate in the atmosphere.

& 2) because CO2 has cause the most warming and the influence it has in the atmosphere is going to continue.
