The prey is what gets eaten. The wolf ate the caribou which makes the caribou the prey. The wolf is the predator and the predator eats the prey. Usually the prey is a smaller organism than the predator and will feed off of smaller creatures or are herbavores, creatures that eat plants like caribou.
