    Gorillas beat their chests after a fight and that they have won. Also they use it as a warning signal for the young gorillas to move away.

    They do this as a warning signal for younger gorillas to back off else they will be engaged in a fight. They also beat their chests after a fight to as a sign of their victory and dominance.
