In general, the surface of a tree has a harder "feel" than does the surface of a dog. What cell characteristic or cell structure of each organism can be used to explain the difference?

    In a tree or any plant there is a cell wall that protects the organism which may make it harder and more rigid, while in an animal there is no cell wall allowing the organism to move freely.
