The most important thing a scientist needs to do if he plans to heat an unknown liquid would be to d - put up a warning sign about flammable materials in the laboratory but more importantly a - wear protective clothing like goggles, gloves and a lab coat.

Both of these things are very important and should be abided by each scientist.

The scientist must wear protective clothing, such as goggles, gloves, and lab coat. Wearing the necessary protective clothing in laboratories is one of the first protocols that ensure the safety of people who do experiments.

These types of clothing provide protection for sensitive parts of the body (e. g. hands and eyes) that are exposed to different types of chemicals. If the scientist does not take this preventive measure, he/she could end up getting 1st to 3rd degree burns on the skin or worst get badly exposed to chemicals that are harmful to the body. These types of clothing are specifically designed and tested to withstand different forces that could possibly occur inside laboratories and should not be taken lightly by anyone who is involved with experiments.
