When does dna replication occur in meiosis and mitosis?

In the cell cycle, DNA replication occurs during the S-phase. It takes place in the S-phase of Interphase. The number of DNA present in daughter cells is equal to those in the parent cell which has gone through Mitosis. DNA replication happens once during Meiosis which is in the S-phase prior to Meiosis I.
